Knowshon Moreno allegedly assaulted student in bar fight
Denver Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno is in a bit of hot water. A University of Georgia student is claiming that he was knocked unconscious on Saturday night by the former Bulldog tailback following a bar fight in Athens, Ga. Stephen Anderson, 18, filed a report late Monday afternoon after consulting with friends. He said he was diagnosed with a concussion earlier in the day. Anderson admits he was drunk and can’t identify the three men that he says jumped him. He doesn’t even know if Moreno was among the attackers. But his friends say they are quot;certain” that Moreno punched Anderson in the face as he was leaving the bar. Moreno told police he was struck first. No charges have been filed and the investigation continues. FANTASY ANALYSIS: This doesn’t seem like too solid a case from first glance. But if Moreno ends up pleading guilty, he will certainly be disciplined by the league office under its personal conduct policy. I wonder if anyone will care that the bar was serving drinks to a drunk 18-year-old and a bunch of his friends. Regardless, Moreno had a solid rookie year with the Broncos, totaling more than 1,100 total yards and nine touchdowns. And he got more than 20 carries in only four games. Thus, he should be even more productive in 2010 and viewed as a strong No. 2 back in fantasy. [Go To Page]
